Toys for Kids a HUGE Success!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this years toy drive the biggest one yet. Eighteen bicycles alone, and enough toys to fill the mack daddy U-haul. It was a sight to behold with all the toys piled high in the Sharks Den through the unbelievable acts of kindness from our friends and neighbors! Please give a huge shout out to Charles and Michelle Griffen (once again!!) when you see them, for all their hard work and time spent to bring joy to many families in Brunswick County this Christmas. The donations also piled up high with the raffle for the Buffett tickets, NASCAR tickets, 50/50, gym membership and Buffett signed flip-flops. Thank you to all that donated the great prizes for the raffle that raised so much for the benefit of Brunswick Family Assistance. Everyone just seemed to be in the giving spirit as party goers brought cheese balls, meatballs, spinach dip, sandwiches and a great number of appetizers for all to snack on as Dave Parker sang the night away. The guests danced, mingled and everyone truly enjoyed what the holiday spirit is about with their great friends, good times and a community coming together to help one another. This is what it is all about!

Flotilla Night

Oh! What a night…for those of you who missed it, we went off the Richter scale, as we out-did the Wrightsville Beach Flotilla, AND North Myrtle Beach!!! Thats right, the OIB Flotilla had the most participants and spectators of any other show that night and we owe it all to Charles and Michelle Griffen and Andy Russ!!! Take a bow guys because ya’ll have created something HUGE!! Crowd participation made the evening and we all were worried our outside decks might not hold everyone. The buzz is that there were more people on the island to watch than we had for the recent Oyster Festival. As the votes were being tallied, The Cousin Homer Band, with special guest Chuck Uzell, took the stage and played for 3 hours with only a small break for 10 minutes to announce the winners. Everyone was in the spirit of the evening as young and old danced the night away and sang with the band.Never before has Sharky’s seen such an enthusiastic crowd or held as many people inside and out of the building….and we hear that this weekends Toys for Tots party will be even bigger! Stay tuned.. We will have pics up soon…
